CHAIRSIDE COSMETIC / The Process
Stage One:
Treatment Planning:
Study models are reviewed to establish a suitable prep design, including the need for crown lengthening and /or gingival contouring, as well as other technical details. The fabrication of a diagnostic wax-up for patient approval of esthetics, and fabrication of temporaries, follows in the ideal.
Stage Two:
Prep appointment:
Photographic records are taken. Teeth are prepped as per the prep design established in Stage One. Underlying and final shade details are recorded, followed by the fabrication and placement of temporaries.
Stage Three:
Insert appointment:
Restorations are tried in place to ensure proper marginal and overall fit - colour control is also managed at this stage. Restorations are then bonded into place using the rapid bonding technique, followed by occlusal equilibration.
